Ford Raptor Builds

A Ford Raptor build is the most-requested program at Texas Motorworx and the platform we know best. We've built every generation of Raptor since the truck launched — Gen 1 (2011–2014), Gen 2 (2017–2020), and Gen 3 (2021+) including the Raptor R and 37 Performance Package. The Raptor's factory engineering is exceptional, but the chassis still has substantial untapped headroom — long-travel conversions can take front travel from ~13" factory to nearly 16", and properly tuned aftermarket shocks transform the rough-terrain composure entirely. Most TMX Raptor builds run $30K–$120K and complete in 6 to 14 weeks.

Vision & generation match

Different Raptor generations want different builds. Gen 1 needs a chassis refresh first; Gen 2 takes an aggressive long-travel program well; Gen 3 builds around live-valve electronics. We start by matching scope to platform.

Build spec & quote

Fixed quote and timeline based on the Raptor generation, your terrain, and the parts list we recommend.

Suspension teardown & rebuild

Factory shocks come off, new chassis components go in. On long-travel builds this includes new uppers, lowers, and shock relocation.

Wheels, lighting, armor

Wheels and tires fit to the new geometry. Lighting routed for desert spec. Bumpers fit for the wider stance.

05

Calibration & delivery

Alignment, shock tuning on Texas back roads, final road-and-trail validation. Drive home or transport.

What does a custom Ford Raptor build cost?
A custom Ford Raptor build at Texas Motorworx typically ranges from $25,000 to $150,000+. A baseline suspension and lighting refresh on a Gen 1 starts near $25K. A mid-tier Gen 2 build with King shocks, Method wheels, and Baja Designs lighting runs $40K–$70K. A full long-travel Gen 3 build with SVC GenX, King 3.0, ADD bumpers, and a complete drivetrain refresh reaches $100K–$150K+.
Which Raptor generation builds best?
All three are excellent. Gen 1 (11–14) is the cheapest entry but needs a chassis refresh first because most are at 80K+ miles. Gen 2 (17–20) takes long-travel kits cleanly and has the most aftermarket support. Gen 3 (21+) builds around live-valve electronics and is the most capable factory truck — long-travel programs on Gen 3 routinely reach race-truck performance.
How long does a Raptor build take?
A bolt-on Raptor build (shocks, wheels, lighting) runs 4–6 weeks. A full custom Gen 2 or Gen 3 program with long-travel components and bumpers runs 8–14 weeks. Long-travel parts have multi-week lead times — we typically order the moment the deposit clears.
Do I need to ship my Raptor to Dallas?
Most out-of-state Raptor customers ship trucks via enclosed transport. Texas customers from Austin, Houston, and San Antonio frequently drive in. Trucks coming from longer distances ship — we coordinate the carrier.
